I have a love hate relationship with social media. I love looking at the cooler content that pops up (cars, video games, sneakers, doggos) but I hate some of the more cryptic, braggadocious and self-centred stuff. I generally consume more than post, and so any “wins” and “good news” I might have, I’m more likely keep to myself and I find it better this way.
But I’m guessing for a business, you kinda wanna tell everyone the good news when it comes in, so here goes.
About 3 years ago we were lucky enough to be included in a project with Moreland City Council called Virtual Moreland. It was government grant funded under the Smart Cities Grant (yay!) and it involved virtualising the Moreland council suburbs so that immersive technologies (VR and AR) can be used for council planning observations and community engagement, for new and proposed projects and developments. We handled the VR side of things.
We successfully delivered the platform and its still in use to this day, undergoing numerous tweaks and changes to improve the experience and to add some tools and functionality to make it more……functional? 😊
Being quite chuffed with our work, we submitted it to Epic Games to see if they thought it was cool enough for an Epic Mega Grant.
And surprisingly they did!!!
So as a result, we received a very welcome donation that we’ve put towards building out Virtual Moreland (now known as KASA Plan) to allow other councils to easily use this technology in their municipalities.
If you wanna know a little more about KASA Plan and what it’s all about, here’s a video we submitted to Epic Games. It’s a little cringy, but hey, you can’t argue with the result.
